This project is the Corporate Office for LNB Group of Companies and is located in financial district in Hyderabad, with a total area of about 25,000 square feet.
Workspace Design
The building is in a prime commercial zone called financial district which is home to multinationals such as Microsoft, Google, Ikea and many others. We wanted the spaces to feel warm and comfortable with global design aesthetic. Furniture has been sourced from across the country, to bring in a warm and eclectic vibe into the spaces. Art is from clients collection. Decorative lights at reception, lounge and directors cabins are from Flos, Board room pendant light above the meeting table is from Vibia.
Maximizing Natural Light
The project involved multiple levels of 7000 square feet floor plate and a relatively low floor to ceiling height. Our first thought was to increase the amount of light that comes into the core of the floor plate as that would not receive any direct external light. Since the building was still under construction when we came onboard, we asked for a large cut out in the core of the building, so that we could introduce sky light and make that the focal point of the space.
There is another smaller reception on the third floor which leads to the management floor above through a large wood clad, sculptural staircase which is under a sky lit core of the building. Muted stones with reflective surfaces have been used to allow light to be evenly diffused throughout the office.
More about the project
A large double height space on the ground floor marks the entrance to the office. It leads to the reception, a small seating and then the elevator lobby. Each floor plate above is about 7000 square feet and each typical floor is dedicated to one vertical within the company. Fourth floor is the Management floor with five director cabins and a large boardroom.
We cladded the reception back drop in small modules of framed wood panels with brass mullions, which entirely lights up in a mild diffused glow. The reception table is a stone monolith counter cantilevered on either side of a brass block. The reception space leads to an elevator lobby for the office spaces above.
